Central Gulf of Mexico Planning Area Lease Sale 247 was held in New Orleans on March 22, 2017. Sale 247, just completed, resulted in 189 bids, by 28 companies, on 163 tracts, for a total of $315,303,884. The total sum of apparent winning bids was $274,797,434, on approximately 0.9 million acres. The last central sale in 2016, Sale 241 resulted in 148 bids, by 30 companies, on 128 tracts, for a total of $179,172,819. The total sum of apparent winning bids was $156,385,610, on approximately 0.7 million acres.
